Being in the centre of the National Park, the cottage is a great base for exploring further afield with activities & attractions if you want to.
Beyond enjoying the great outdoors here are a few tasters of what other is on offer: Castlerigg stone circle above Keswick to the north gives a taste of the area’s ancient history.
Boat trips on various lakes, Whinlatter and Grizedale Forests offer purpose built mountain bike trails, Go Ape and other family activities in the forest. You can learn more about some of the Lake District’s literary history at Dove Cottage (former home of William Wordsworth) or the Beatrix Potter Gallery in Hawkshead.
There are numerous eateries offering fantastic food – the Drunken Duck is not too far away near Hawkshead and Cartmel is home to the Michelin starred L’Enclume as well as the famous sticky toffee pudding!
